More than 15 years after Kanye West pulled off a bizarre stunt at the MTV Video Music Awards, India Love decided to do something similar at the 2025 Streamer Awards on Saturday. As the best streamers and content creators came together for the premier event, YouTuber FaZe Adapt was announced as the Breakout Streamer of the Year. India Love, however, dashed to the stage to tell the audience that streamer Raki is more deserving of the award.
“Streamer of the year went to Adapt, and congratulations, we respect you for what you did. But Raki should have won Breakout Streamer of the Year, and DDG,” India Love said on stage, per Complex. “I don’t care what y’all say. Shoutout Raki.”
While the crowd remained shocked by the sudden twist, security removed Love from the scene, Complex reported.
What did Kanye West say at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards?
India Love’s bizarre moment on Saturday, of course, brought back memories of the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. That’s when Kanye West jumped on stage to tell the audience Beyoncé deserves the Best Female Video trophy instead of Taylor Swift.
“Yo, Taylor,” West said at that time as he interrupted her acceptance speech. “I’m really happy for you. I’mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time.”
What was the reaction to India Love disrupting the 2025 Streamer Awards?
Love not only faced boos at the awards but also received a massive backlash online. DJ FaZe Kaysan was among the critics who called out Love for her strange behavior.
“No class. Just beyond unnecessary and weird,” FaZe Kaysan wrote on X.
Streamer FaZe Lacy also expressed his displeasure after seeing Love’s behavior.
“F**k India Love for ruining the event,” FaZe Lacy said in a streaming video as he recapped the event.
